Refund Policy

Our services are professional time and expertise reserved for your firm, so most fees are earned when the work period begins. Here’s how refunds work for each type of charge.

| Monthly advisory retainer | Nonrefundable once the month begins. Unused retainer hours expire at the end of the month and aren’t refunded. |
| Additional hour blocks | Nonrefundable once purchased. Unused block hours carry over as described in your engagement letter and expire after that. |
| Hourly charges billed at month end | Billed only for hours actually worked, so no refund applies. |
| Fixed fee project, canceled before work begins | Full refund of any amount paid. |
| Fixed fee project, canceled after work begins | Fees for completed and in progress milestones are nonrefundable. Any amount prepaid for milestones that haven’t started is refunded. |
| Billing errors or duplicate charges | Refunded or credited in full once confirmed. |
Canceling an advisory engagement
Give 30 days’ written notice to stop future retainer charges. The retainer for the current month isn’t prorated.
Billing errors
Please report any billing error within 30 days of the charge by emailing . We’ll review it and respond within 5 business days.
How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are returned by ACH to the bank account the payment came from, within 10 business days of approval. Depending on your bank, it may take a few more days to appear.
Before disputing a charge with your bank
Please contact us first. Most questions can be resolved quickly, and a bank dispute or ACH return can delay any refund we’ve approved.
